T'was the Wednesday Before Nerdapalooza...
Well, it's upon us once again. No longer a "one day it'll be here", but in fact just a few days away. Nerdapalooza. The night where the nerds will, in fact, rock.
For the first time ever I've actually been receiving frequently asked questions, so I thought I'd start off the blog with answering these so you won't be waiting for a long response from yours truly:
Did this not answer your question? Send an email over to faq@nerdapaloozafest.com and I'll answer as quickly as I can.
Next up, let's talk social networking! We're on a mission to totally disrupt Twitter!! Let's make #nerdapalooza a trending topic on there. Whenever you can, throw it in there. Also, if you aren't yet, follow us! As for Facebook, if you haven't already join the group, attend the event, and share the HELL out of both of them! Let everyone know what you're doing this weekend!!
We also want to thank EVERYONE very much who donated to Nerdapalooza this past week. You helped us out very much and made a difference. We're still looking for donations, though, and helping out will NOT go unnoticed! You can donate here.
Nerdapalooza has also been receiving a wave of press that we're not used to getting! It's making us feel respectable and all that jazz! One article in particular we're really excited about came up on Newsarama.com yesterday. If you get a chance, go to the article and "recommend" it so it gets a higher ranking on the site, getting us more exposure!
If you haven't heard about it yet, the Pre-Party is going to be AWESOME AND A HALF! All the details are on the Facebook event page for it, but the basic details are free pizza, free beer (for those of age and WE WILL BE CHECKING!), and free music. None other than Schaffer the Darklord, the showstopper from last year's Nerdapalooza, will be headlining the night. It'll be this Friday from 8 until around 11:30. If you aren't sure if you want to go to Nerdapalooza, this party will be a good litmus test of what you've got coming at you.
Finally, this HAS to be the find of the day! Apparently when the artists are waiting for Nerdapalooza, they hang out in cafes together. May I present two of the Nerdapalooza headliners, mc chris and MC Frontalot...
For the first time ever I've actually been receiving frequently asked questions, so I thought I'd start off the blog with answering these so you won't be waiting for a long response from yours truly:
Will tickets be available at the door?
Yes. They will still be at the $15 a day and $20 for the weekend rates.
I purchased a ticket for more than just myself, but my party and I are arriving at separate times. Will this be a problem?
Not at all! Email us from the address that you purchased your ticket with as a form of authorization, explain the situation and list the names of the people you purchased tickets for. That will ensure the most amount of flexibility for you and your party.
I have not received a physical ticket. How will I get into the show?
This year we're going a 100% digital system. We have a comprehensive will-call list that will be updated 3 hours before the event (when online sales close). If you purchased a ticket ahead of time, make sure you have a valid form of photo ID.
Did this not answer your question? Send an email over to faq@nerdapaloozafest.com and I'll answer as quickly as I can.

Nerdapalooza Needs YOUR Help!!
Attention ladies and gents!! Nerdapalooza is just around the corner, however we still need YOUR help to make it a success! We've been working diligently to make this the BEST Nerdapalooza yet establishing this as a true tradition, so take a second to help us make sure that it holds true.
First off, we need YOU to help advertise it! You can do this by having people follow the @Nerdapalooza Twitter account, join Nerdapalooza Facebook Group, reserve at the Nerdapalooza Event on Facebook, befriend us at our good ole' Myspace! And tell your friends to do the same by linking them to this Blog! If you haven't done it yet, head on over to the Eventbrite page and buy your tickets! While they WILL be available at both the AwesomePants Pre-Party at A Comic Shop as well as at the door, buying tickets early will help us figure out exactly how many will be there and plan accordingly.
As well as advertising, we are passing out the collection plate. Nerdapalooza is a little short of exactly what we need to make this event what we plan, and so are asking all our fans, followers, supporters, and friends to help in however way they can. Even if it's $5, that'll help make sure that we can not only make this year amazing, but set up a tradition of AMAZING. Please visit our Donation Page, or visit our Blogspot (in the common case that the website isn't working at the moment). This is still a very DIY project and both our partner, EMPulse Records and me personally are coming heavily out of pocket to make sure this event comes through. And as a charity event with the profits going to Child's Play, we're not looking to make money back on this, we're doing this because we believe in the idea of nerds having their own place to rock.
Now, enough of the pleading :P We have retooled the schedule and are proud to announce that Florida favorite, Funky49, will be performing at the Pre-Party with a POSSIBLE secret guest, and that we are proud to announce NOT ONLY YTCracker returning to Nerdapalooza for his second year but that MC Lars will be performing for his first time ever! You can peep the rehashed schedule over here.
We're inching on the event, only about a week and a half to go!! I can't wait to hang with all of you at the event! Please help out however you can to make sure the nerds can rock!!
Much nerdy love

Nerdapalooza Trailer, Raffle, and New Ticket Price!
Last week, the Nerdapalooza Crew did a little filming, and with the thanks of Masurao from Krondor Krew and media wizard, nYgel, for making this trailer possible!
And that's right! We are NOW selling tickets for only $20 for the whole weekend, and $15 for each separate day. You should head over and buy your ticket now, before we run out. :D
Also, something to look forward to at the show is a VERY fun raffle we're gonna have called the "Get ____ to Nerdapalooza" raffle. Basically, the idea is to raise money for help artists and fans that wouldn't be able to come to Nerdapalooza due to budgetary restraints. It's the idea of the community looking from within to help itself hang out at Nerdapalooza. Of course, as the Raffle is going on AT Nerdapalooza, the proceeds will exclusively go to helping bring people out to Nerdapalooza 2010. Some of the people who have offered to donate stuff are funky49, Schaffer the Darklord, and Jesse Dangerously!! If you want more information on how to reserve raffle tickets NOW, how to donate items for the raffle, or just want to have more details, head on over to this link here!
Well, that's all I got for now. More updates coming soon! :)
